The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the development of telemedicine in Vietnam. Online consultations increased by 300% during 2020-2024. Platforms like eDoctor, Jio Health, and VNVC are expanding remote medical consultation services.
The biggest challenges are internet infrastructure in rural areas, lack of clear legal framework, and peoples habit of in-person visits. However, telemedicine is particularly useful for follow-up visits, medication consultations, and chronic disease monitoring.
