Antibiotic Resistance: A Global Threat and Everyone's Responsibility
The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that antibiotic resistance is one of the top 10 global health threats. In Vietnam, antibiotic resistance rates are among the highest in the world, with over 40% of E.coli bacteria resistant to common antibiotics.
The main causes are purchasing antibiotics without prescription, not completing the full course, and overuse of antibiotics in livestock. Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a doctor, take the correct dose for the full duration, and never share medications with others.
